I totally reject the premise of the question, it doesn't have to be an either-or situation. The development of green technology will come more quickly from a healthy economy. The choice isn't between a strong economy or environmentalism it's between what profits and tax revenues are spent on very interesting question, I think both are important, we most care the enviroment and continue working! People will talk a big game about voting for something beyond their own personal interests. And then just vote for their own interests once there's no cameras on them. We don't need lavish lifestyles considering that their are billions of people living on the planet and the resulting demands made on it. We need to live a more sustainable lifestyle, one that is mindful of our carbon footprint and with respect to the fact that it is only ethical to hand over the planet to the next generation, in good condition.
