I was once in a waiting room at the hospital getting ready to leave when the woman sitting next to me reached out and flicked the joystick on my electric wheelchair thinking it was really funny. Thankfully I hadn’t switched it on yet, so nothing happened. If it been switched on though I could have been injured, my feet were on the ground in front of the footrest so if the chair had suddenly lurched forward I would have been smacked in the back of my ankles by the footrest.
