I would think that politicians would be what you want to fact check the most. They represent us in our government and we need to have good information so we can make an informed decision at the voting booth. If Facebook had to fact check the October Breast Cancer Awareness Month Tree And Car Halloween Shirt of everything posted by politicians, their staff population would have to be the size of a small town. I'm sure giant mega-corporations and governments only have altruistic motivations in mind when controlling information. I'm sure they can be trusted to decide what's true and false with no bias.
Taxing Facebook in order to keep the internet accountable is a problem too. Everyone has bias and there will be too many lawsuits, the other downside is doing nothing. So the rules apply to everybody except those who have once run for, are currently running for, currently hold or once held political office. I bet politicians love this. Sometimes I wonder if FB is a government agency to spy on everyone. I like FB by the way. Kye Digby I heard a conspiracy theory the other day that said Trump won't release his taxes because it shows him being silent owners in social media sites and technology companies.
