As difficult as it is for the family we all manage rather than put your loved one into the care system. ts definitely the long goodbye, my poor mum has had dementia for 10 years and is now like my little baby unable to do anything for herself cannot walk, talk, is bed bound, doubly incontinent and cries most of the time. This Illness is beyond cruel and heartbreaking for everyone involved. My dad has suffered the most as my mum has slowly gone away. My mum is still with us but has suffered for 17 years.
